Rebuilding the damaged medical facility to support the health of 265 village residents

The feldsher-midwife station in the village of Bobrovyi Kut, Kherson region, is a key primary healthcare facility. It is here that local residents and people from nearby villages can access essential medical services close to home. Due to shelling and hostilities, the building sustained severe damage, effectively depriving residents of access to healthcare and medical staff of safe and adequate working conditions.

To address this, the District #1 Charity Foundation, in partnership with GER3 and with financial support from the Ukraine Humanitarian Fund (UHF), restored the damaged feldsher-midwife station. The initiative was implemented as part of the project «Improving Access to Basic Services through Emergency Housing Repairs and Restoration of Healthcare Facilities in Kherson Oblast».

The facility was fully renovated and prepared to receive patients through a comprehensive set of restoration works:

  • Exterior restoration: the roof was completely repaired and replaced, providing reliable protection for the building against weather conditions.
  • Utility systems: the electrical system was fully upgraded and restored to ensure a stable power supply.
  • Interior renovation: finishing works were completed, creating a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.

Thanks to the renovation, the feldsher-midwife station. has fully resumed its operations. Medical staff now have comfortable working conditions, while 265 local residents once again have reliable access to primary healthcare services. The restoration of facilities like this lays a strong foundation for rebuilding the social infrastructure of the de-occupied Kherson region.
