Repair of 28 private houses in the Kyiv region
During the occupation of the Kyiv region by Russian troops, a significant number of private houses were severely damaged by artillery and missile shelling and required rebuilding or repair. Houses with destroyed roofs, windows, walls, and doors needed emergency attention to prepare these homes for the harsh cold spring amid constant shelling and the absence of regular access to utilities.
An additional and very important task for our team was to find families in need of home repair in remote villages of the Kyiv region, which were lacking humanitarian aid.
Our team meticulously conducted scouting and selected 28 damaged private houses in localities of the Kyiv region: Moshchun, Ozera, Hostomel, Gorenka, Borodyanka, Maidanivka, Vyshnyaky, Dmytrivka, Nova Buda, Teterivske, and Zhereva.
The charitable fund “District #1,” with financial support from the charitable fund “Help – Hilfe zur Selbsthilfe,” did the following:
- Assessed the extent of damage to each house.
- Developed a plan for repairing various damages.
- Conducted tenders and purchased building materials.
- Repaired damaged roofs, roofing, walls. Replaced windows and doors in the houses.
An impressive achievement of this project is that 3,571 square meters of roofing were restored.
As a result of this joint work, 94 people received repaired homes where they can live comfortably and cozily in winter and cold spring.
We believe that every living space we restore not only creates a comfortable living environment but also gives people hope and belief in a better future.
